The New England Legal Foundation has four mission goals: to promote free enterprise, defend property rights, advocate for good and limited government based on the rule of law, and promote inclusive growth. These fundamental values create the best opportunity for progress and elevation for all peoples with the rising economic tides. For nearly 50 years, the NELF has filed amicus curiae briefs in New England state and federal courts and the U.S. Supreme Court to advance this mission and build and shape legislation that favors emerging and existing technologies. We rely entirely on charitable donations to support our work. Ed DiSanto is Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer, General Counsel and Secretary of American Tower Corporation, where he is responsible for legal, risk management, compensation, public affairs and human resources functions. During his tenure at American Tower, Ed was instrumental in leading negotiations that led to transformative acquisitions that significantly expanded our domestic and international portfolios, including Verizon Communications in the U.S. and Viom Networks in India. Prior to joining American Tower Corporation in April 2007, Mr. DiSanto worked at Pratt & Whitney, a division of United Technologies Corporation. Mr. DiSanto joined United Technologies in 1989, where he served first as Deputy General Counsel of the Carrier subsidiary and then as Executive Assistant to the President and Chief Executive Officer.
Beginning in 1997, he held various legal and commercial positions within the Pratt & Whitney unit, including Assistant General Counsel and Vice President, Global Service Partners, Business Development. Prior to joining United Technologies, Mr. DiSanto held a number of legal and related positions at United Dominion Industries and New England Electric Systems. Mr. DiSanto holds a J.D. from Boston College Law School and a Bachelor of Science degree from Northeastern University. In 2013, Mr. DiSanto became a member of the Board of Directors of the Business Council for International Understanding. The Cabot Awards Dinner is our biggest fundraiser of the year and we`re excited to have new offerings this year. The event will be held in person at the Fairmont Copley in Boston, and we will also be livestreaming the event online for anyone who wishes to participate virtually. The reception starts at 18:00 and the program and live broadcast starts at 19:00. Another novelty this year is that we are holding an online auction with great items.
