The main objective of this study is to determine the benefits of implementing the National Service Training Program (NSTP) and to identify the problems faced by its implementers. The results showed that the benefits of the program were crowned by the improvement of core leadership skills with a focus on listening and communication skills, which were considered very important and benefited greatly among other aspects of the program`s training. The results also showed that students are aware of the importance of physical, mental and social health, as well as maintaining good hygiene for overall well-being. While leisure is an aspect that respondents consider important, the appreciation highlights the need for more time for assignments and projects, as most respondents are enrolled in their respective 29-unit courses, so they cannot appreciate the benefits of participating in various recreational activities. Implementation issues revealed a lack of materials and equipment, as well as budget allocations, which made full implementation weak as students and faculty involved in community immersion depend on their own resources, in addition to the indifference and passivity of local officials. Based on the results, the researchers recommended that: the school administration allocate an adequate budget for materials and equipment; regular faculty development training; Review the passive attitude of local officials to ensure that the implementation of NSTP projects benefits both clients and implementers. The National Service Training Program (NSTP) is aimed at students in higher education and amends RA 7077 RA 1706 to improve civic awareness and youth advocacy readiness through the development of service ethic and patriotism. As a member of the NSTP facilitators, the researcher wishes to learn more about the role of NSTP and NSTP students in promoting and implementing the NSTP goal in a specific community to improve lives and ensure a healthy environment, which is the main goal and mission of DLSAU-NSTP and the so-called sustainable community. The researcher uses the community-based participatory action research (CBRN) model, to be more precise, the targeted group discussion (FGD) model, to know exactly what the community`s existing situations and problems are. Communities in the Ipo, Norzagaray, Bulacan Dam watershed, DLSAU NSTP and NSTP students, and DENR are focusing more on economic security, one of the elements of a sustainable community, i.e. the education and livelihood program needed to create and achieve a sustainable community. Therefore, this research is based solely on active cooperation between the researcher, the university, the government, institutions or groups of people, especially the community in the field concerned. By helping together, we provide a solution to the needs of the community and give the best possible programs and projects, that is, giving them a quality education and a noble livelihood program that benefits people to achieve a sustainable community.
The National Service Training Program (NSTP) was implemented by the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman pursuant to Republic Act (RA) 9163, an Act establishing the National Service Training Program (NSTP) for Tertiary Students, which enables the government to create a program that encourages young people to actively participate in citizen welfare and literacy initiatives and defend the country in a timely manner. of war. However, it was not until 2011 that UP Diliman took care to unify the various NSTP initiatives of the different colleges and units, after the creation of the NSTP Director`s Office (system level) and the appointment of a NSTP coordinator for the Diliman UP. The Civic Welfare Training Service focuses on activities that have a social impact through activities that could contribute to “citizen health, education, the environment, entrepreneurship, safety, recreation and morale,” so the CWTS component of the NSTP emphasized the importance of youth engaging in broad programs or activities that benefit people.
